Puja J. Mistry, DMD

Dr. Mistry was born and raised in Southern California, but now calls Sacramento home. After graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Biology, she moved to Boston to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. During her time on the East Coast, she had the opportunity to live in Bangor, Maine and worked as a student dentist at the Penobscot Community Health Center, treating an underserved population of adults and children. While at Tufts, Dr. Mistry was a member of the admissions committee and played an active role in interviewing prospective dental students.

After graduating from Tufts with a D.M.D., she returned to the West Coast to pursue a general practice residency at the Sepulveda VA dental clinic in Los Angeles. Following her residency, Dr. Mistry remained with the VA, working with the homeless veterans program, while also practicing in a private practice setting for several years before moving to Sacramento. More recently, Dr. Mistry has pursued advanced education with the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle and the Clinical Mastery Series Group, adding evidence-based techniques to her practice. These experiences have helped shape her philosophy, and she believes compassion, ethics, and dental education are the foundation of excellent patient care.

In her free time, Dr. Mistry enjoys eating delicious food, camping, and traveling around the world with her husband and young daughter.

Fun Fact: Dr. Mistry climbed Mount Fuji.
